Coppersky
Lunchroom KEEK, Utrecht
14.07.2014   21.08.2014
Coppersky is a melodic indie rock band with an American vibe from Utrecht, The Netherlands. The powerful voice of Erik Zwart reminds of Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder and many songs sound like they have been written to perform in a stadium. After their debut album 'Relief, Be around the Bend' in 2013, the local music press announced them as most promising band from Utrecht. Hopefully, these high expectations don't have a paralyzing effect on the band when they record their second album in December. Coppersky is a five-fold band, but in this session we only see Erik and Martijn Zwart (yes, they are brothers). The choice of the song must certainly have been an easy one.

That's because "At Nemo's" is partly about Lunchroom KEEK, where this session was recorded . Singer Erik and his wife are the owners of the lunchroom. When opening it 6 years ago, they were at the same time building their budding relationship. Such a turbulent period is of course very suitable to write a song about. The abbreviation KEEK stands for Art and Honest Coffee. All sandwiches and cakes are home-made from biological ingredients only.
